About Me
My name is Philip Navarro, and my mission is to improve children’s lives by promoting their strengths, addressing their needs, and helping them to understand and leverage their unique learning profiles. My skillset includes multisensory teaching and executive functioning coaching, and over the past fifteen years I have been a successful interventionist and classroom teacher across grade levels and content areas. I have extensive experience with gifted students who benefit from academic support.
In supporting students, I use evidence-based practices whenever possible, and, where they are lacking or unsuccessful, I choose interventions supported by the best available research. I continually develop my skills and knowledge-base in order to be the best possible resource for students and their families.
I hold an M.S. in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University, and I have extensive training in the remediation of dyslexia and in multisensory methods for math instruction. Currently, I serve as Middle School Learning Specialist at Browne Academy in Arlington, VA.
